WORKSHOP LEADERS' TRAINING IN 2008
ARRANGING SONGS FOR ACAPELLA
This course will explore a number of ways of harmonising songs, with reference to different song styles and origins.
We shall explore these ideas by listening to examples and trying out various ideas in groups. The course is for anyone who wants to arrange songs for acapella; you don't have to be a workshop leader. It is suitable for those who have no experience of arranging songs as well as for those who want to improve their skills and it will be particularly useful for those who want to try arranging songs without using instruments or written music. There are no entry requirements, and you don't need to be able to read music; it is, however, helpful if you are able to hold a harmony on your own in a small group. The course will be very largely practical, with opportunities to try out your skills as well as to share your experiences, ideas and enthusiasm with a group of prople who all get a thrill out of creating harmonies.
Places on this course are limited to 20 participants.
